This exhibition is presented in sympathy with the Methodist ethos that “We are the friends of all and the enemies of none”
Trinity Methodist Church Brentgovel Street Bury St Edmunds IP33 1EB 8th November 2010 The Loss of Innocence – Paintings from the Gaza I would like to invite you to the opening of an exhibition of children’s paintings which opens at Trinity Methodist Church at 6pm on 22nd November and continues until 3rd December. The exhibition includes about 50 paintings. Some are funny, some tragic and some beautiful which describe the feelings of the children of the Gaza during and following the military operation by the Israeli Defence Forces in the Gaza in December 2008. Children used art therapy to express what they had experienced. The pictures show the idealized view that children have of life in a peaceful Gaza, and panel by panel shows the assault develop, the deaths and trauma, and the aftermath, culminating in expressions of resistance, and what we can do to help. Rod Cox who collected the pictures will be speaking at the opening. The enclosed leaflet and press release explain more about the exhibition. I do hope that you can come to the opening or spare time to look at the pictures which carry their own story. With all good wishes Yours sincerely Rob Hufton Minister
